Qld: Woman shot in stomach when she answered front door

BRISBANE, April 17 AAP - A 28-year-old woman was shot in the stomach when she answered
her front door, in south-east Queensland, police said today.

Police said the woman was shot by a man dressed in black when she answered a knock
on the door of her home in Sunshine Crescent, Brassall, west of Brisbane, around 8.30pm
(AEST) yesterday.

The woman did not know the man, police said.

She is in a critical condition in hospital.

Witnesses told police they saw the man running west along Sunshine Crescent, down Ranch
Street and into Rowan Drive.

He then ran to the intersection with Vogel Street and into a waiting white van.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a white older
model van in the Brassall area at or about the time of the incident.
