Fed: SA the loser in ABC funding cuts - Lees
Independent Senator MEG LEES says South Australia's television industry has sufferedanother serious blow with the ABC's decision to cut programs.
The ABC plans to save $26.1 million a year and cut some television programs, digitalmulti-channelling and its schools program Behind the News.
Senator LEES says SA and children will be the biggest losers from the ABC board's decision,which was announced yesterday.
She says the decline of the TV production industry in Adelaide is a serious concern.
Senator LEES says Adelaide's TV broadcasts are being increasingly managed in Melbourne,meaning the loss of local jobs.
She says she's drafting a private members' bill to help halt the decline of the industryin smaller capital cities.
