NSW: Police find stolen tea during RBT check

SYDNEY, Aug 30 AAP - A suspected stolen shipment of tea worth $250,000 has been intercepted
during a routine random breath test, police said today.

A police spokesman said the tea was discovered when a semi-trailer driven by a 32-year-old
man was stopped at Moorebank in Sydney's south west just after 5pm yesterday.

"Police asked to see his log books and cargo manifest," he said.

"(Police) then started investigations into the destination of the cargo, 40 pallets of tea
with an estimated value of $250,000."

The spokesman said the man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was interviewed
and charged with goods in custody.

He has been bailed to appear in Bankstown Local Court on September 23.
